1) WHAT IS 'EXECUTIVE PANEL’? - Back to Top
Executive Panel is a specially designed set of extensive blood test carried on our new fully computerised Random Access Analyser DIMENSION-RXL (DADE).

2) WHAT TESTS ARE INCLUDED IN THE “EXECUTIVE PANEL”? - Back to Top
It includes the following tests-:

I) Blood Count (C.B.C.):- Gives your Haemoglobin, Red Blood Cell Count, White Blood Cell cont, Platelet count, Automatic Differential count on 8000 White cells using V.C.S. (Volume, Conductivity & Scatter) on latest SYSMEX SF - 3000 Analyser.

II) E.S.R.

III) Pacer-26:- 26 Different tests for complete check up of your liver, kidney, heart, bones , cholesterol, sugar etc.

IV)  Mini G.T.C. (G.T.T. or Glucose Tolerance Curve):- Gives your fasting sugar as well as blood sugar 1 hour and 2 hours after glucose. This is a check up for Diabetes.

V) Lipid Profile :- Cholesterol (Total) alone is not useful. We give you three fractions (i.e. HDL, LDL & VLDL) of cholesterol and their ratios. To detect heart problems, now, more importance is given to LDL & HDL cholesterol, APO-A & APO-B & LP(a) (Lipoprotein ‘A’) optional.

VI) G-6-P-D:- Certain communities in India (like Parsis, Kutchhis, Sindhis, Bohras etc.) are sensitive to certain drugs (used in malaria, typhoid etc.) because their Red Cells do not have G-6-P.D. We test for this deficiency.

VII) Your Blood Group:- It is important to know your blood group. You may need it in an unexpected emergency.

VIII) Urine Routine Examination.

IX) Stool Routine Examination.

X) CORONARY RISK FACTORS.

XI)  AIDS (optional)

3) WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY CORONARY RISK FACTORS? - Back to Top

Previously, we believed that cholesterol (Total) was responsible for heart attack. Now recent studies have revealed that besides cholesterol, there are many other factors (16 factors) which make you prone to develop heart attack. These 16 factors are known as CORONARY RISK FACTORS.
We give you a special report on all these 16 CORONARY RISK FACTORS generated by our Computers.

4) HOW DOES KNOWLEDGE OF CORONARY RISK FACTORS HELP? - Back to Top

I) Coronary Risk Factors analyses you based on these 16 Factors:

1) age, 2) sex, 3) Family (hereditary) Background, 4) Smoking 5) Overweight, 6) High blood pressure
7) Diabetes, 8) Total cholesterol, 9) HDL cholesterol, 10) LDL cholesterol,  11) LDLC/HDLC Ratio, 12) TC/HDLC Ratio, 13) Uric acid, 14) Physical activity, 15) Personality type  16) Stress and tension.

II)It tells you whether you are less prone or more prone (low risk or high risk) to develop heart attack:
Results of all your blood tests and other information (like smoking, weight, stress etc.) are fed to the computer. Then the computer generates a tabulated report giving you certain points in each of these 16 risk factors and total points.
From these total points you can make out whether you are less prone (low risk) or more prone (high risk) to develop heart attack.

III) It tells you what hurts your heart:
A glance at the report gives you an idea which factor is hurting your heart, so that you can take necessary precautions and treatment in time.

IV) It tells you where you can help yourself and where you cannot:
Another glance through the report tells you:
a) Where you can help yourself with a strong will power: - There are three COMPLETELY REVERSIBLE FACTORS (Violet colour in the report) VIZ. smoking, control of blood pressure and weight. These are entirely under your control and willpower. Diabetes, high cholesterol with their fractions are PARTIALLY REVERSIBLE FACTORS (blue colour in the report) which can be controlled with diet and drugs.
b) Where you can not help yourself: Advancing age, your sex and family tendency to develop premature heart attacks are NOT REVERSIBLE (Red colour in the report). which are Again not entirely within your control.
Stresses and strains, your personality type and life style are OTHER POSSIBLE FACTORS (Red colour in the report), which are Again not entirely within your control.

V) It gives you a base line for future reference: If you get a check up every year, you can compare your points and results. If you are taking care and/or drugs to control your diabetes, cholesterol etc.-it will tell you how successful you are !
It serves as a YEARLY PROGRESS REPORT.

5) WHY SHOULD YOU GET REGULAR MEDICAL CHECK UP? - Back to Top

You should get medical check up because of:
a) Increasing stresses and strains of fast, modern, civilized urban life.
b) Sedentary life style.
c) Pollution of air, water and food.
d) Dietary irregularities. In executive groups-diet rich in fat, cholesterol.
e) Alcoholic beverages.
f) Various toxic drugs frequently used.

6) WHO SHOULD GET HEALTH CHECK UP? - Back to Top

EVERYONE WHO CARES FOR HIS HEALTH. Every machine, may it be your air conditioner, T.V., video, refrigerator, car etc., requires periodic check up, maintenance and proper care. Our body also, in a way, is a GOD made machine which works without much attention for 30-40 years. After that, it starts giving trouble. So why not take proper care earlier in life?

7 AT WHAT AGE SHOULD HEALTH CHECK UP BEGIN? - Back to Top

EARLIER THE BETTER. In U.S.A., even new born babies are tested, if high cholesterol levels are found in certain families.

8) SHOULD YOU GET A MEDICAL CHECK UP EVEN IF YOU FEEL NORMAL? - Back to Top

YES. PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.
Taking proper care of your heart early in life gives you better results and longer life.
Before you actually feel “Unwell”, there is a stage of “Subclinical” incipient disease. If a disease is diagnosed in this early stage, many reversible diseases can be treated effectively and cured. The main purpose of investigation is to detect disease in early stages and hence the Executive Panel is the best way to get a health check-up every year.

9) HOW OFTEN SHOULD MEDICAL CHECK-UP BE DONE? - Back to Top
At least once in a year. More often if you are subjected to high risk factors and if previous check up shows any abnormality.

10) WHAT ABOUT PHYSICAL CHECKUP? - Back to Top

After getting all laboratory and radiological tests, it is necessary to consult your Physician for a physical check-up, E.C.G. and Stress test if necessary.

11) WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF AUTOMATION OVER TRADITIONAL MANUAL METHODS?- Back Top

FAST: Being an automatic system, blood tests can be carried out at much faster rate upto 750 / hour.
ACCURATE RESULTS: Human errors are eliminated. High standards of quality control achieved. Gives most reliable and accurate results.
LESS BLOOD: Only 15-20 ccs. of blood required to carry out about 50 different tests, as compared to manual methods which would have required 60-70 ccs. of blood.
COMPREHENSIVE: All vital organs like heart, liver, kidneys, bones, brain muscles are screened at a time. Coronary Risk Factors tell you what hurts your heart.
ECONOMICAL:  Because of automation, the cost is reduced by 40%.

12) WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE? - Back to Top

1) 3 days prior to testing-take two hearty meals a day with plenty of sweets. No dieting.
2) Avoid drugs (if permitted by your physician) and alcohol for 2 days.
3) Collect two bottles (for Urine & Stool) on the previous day.
4) Get the blood pressure checked by your family doctor on the previous day and note it B.P. taken in laboratory is not reliable as it tends to rise because of anxiety and apprehension.
5) Take light dinner on the previous night before 8.00 p.m.(12 to 14hours overnight fasting).
6) In the morning, collect the first specimen of urine and stool. Put your name on both bottles with a Ballpen (no felt pen because it smudges)
